The Clemson Tiger Tennis Camp has a professional staff with over 100 years of working experience with juniors of all ages. Their expert tennis knowledge is shared with your child from the beginning to the end of every day. The Clemson Tiger Tennis staff understands the importance of creating a learning atmosphere that makes your child's experience at camp fun and exciting. Coach Harris and her senior staff have addressed hundreds of times the need for safety, supervision and accident prevention. Complete attention is given to making your child's week at camp the very best.

We will evaluate the camper's playing level early in the week to make sure your son or daughter is placed in the best four-person group for his/her maximum improvement. Campers are evaluated Sunday evening from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. At the end of the session all campers will know their group designation as White, Orange, Orange Crush or Top Tiger with a Paw or Claw designation. This organization allows for our camp to run smoothly and to know exactly where our campers are at all times. Day campers must attend this important session.
The Clemson Tiger Tennis camp accepts tennis enthusiasts from the ages of 4-17 years old. Our on-court instruction is divided into five distinct groups meeting the needs of the beginner to the tournament player:

The Clemson Tiger Tennis Camp is proud to offer Purple Camp for the Tiger Cub. Purple Camp is for ages 4-8 years and is an introduction to the basic strokes of tennis: the forehand, backhand, volley and serve. Important fundamentals to development hand/eye coordination, motor skills and footwork will be the focus of Purple Camp while introducing our sport in a fun and exciting environment. The Tiger Cubs will also learn proper grips and become familiar with the lines of the court and the game of tennis.
Each day at Purple Camp the Tiger Cubs will have a theme. On Paint Day campers have fun painting orange tiger paws and purple balloons on their faces while they meet new friends. Other theme days include Fear Factor and Olympic Day where the children have water gun challenges (bring your own towel) and other fun filled activities. Refreshments will be served at mid morning for a break.
The Tiger Cubs will receive a camp T-shirt, a photo with the Clemson Tiger Mascot and online access of photos for personal use. It is a wonderful way to introduce the great game of tennis so please come and join us for the fun at our Purple Camp for the Tiger Cub. This camp is offered during the 4th session 8:15 am to Noon each day M-Th only. There are no overnight campers for this group and this class begins on Monday at 8:15 a.m.

The on court drill sessions give the camper the necessary repetition for solid stroke production while the professional staff critiques court position, technique, footwork and movement to the ball. Each day the camper has the opportunity to hit every stroke in the game while being taught by top professionals and instructors of the Clemson Tiger Tennis Camp staff.

Each day your son or daughter will attend a classroom session with instruction in areas such as nutrition, caring for the body, sportsmanship, mental training, on-court strategies, and much more. This off-court time provides a rest from the sun and helps the student learn more about themselves and their tennis game.
The fundamentals taught during on-court instruction, drill training, and classroom sessions are put into practice in daily match play. Match play provides the beginner and intermediate player an excellent team and group orientation while learning how to compete. For the tournament player match play is a key for the student's success in the sport. Court positioning, using the element of time, reading the strengths and weaknesses of the opponent and how to play to score are taught in this section of camp.

Our camp has an organized group activity every evening. Some of the planned events are: Olympic Games Night, Movie Night, and the All Star Tournament-Swim Night. As with our entire schedule, evening activities are closely supervised by our professional staff to ensure a wholesome and safe environment.
